Apple iPhone sold out in US, UK

apple_iphone-img_5247Apple has confirmed that it is sold out of its iPhone in both the UK and the United States. The iPhone manufacturer has reported that its iPhone is out of stock online but may still be available at some Apple and partner retail stores.

Speculation is that Apple is trying to empty its shelves to make way for the new 3G iPhone expected to make its appearance next month.

AT&T shows “iPhone Black” on its website

iphoneblack-080512-1AT&T, Apple’s exclusive wireless carrier in the States, is listing a new model of iPhone on its website, the iPhone Black. The new and unannounced model shows when ordering a device online.

Photos have been circulating that the new 3G iPhone would have a black backing and this would fall right in line with those rumors if it were true.

3G settings found in new iPhone firmware update

3gscreenThe latest beta release 5.0 firmware for the iPhone is showing that users will be able to disable 3G to help conserve their battery. The settings screen shows that users can switch 3G off to revert back to GPRS/EDGE connection.

AT&T yanks free WiFi for iPhone

att_header_logo3The on-and-off again relationship with AT&T and the iPhone’s free WiFi seems to be experiencing yet another bump in the road. It seems a few hours after our post hit the web, the wireless carrier pulled all references about offering HotSpot WiFi for iPhones from its website.

Orange, Apple to offer iPhone in Spain and Poland

orangeOrange, Apple’s official iPhone partner in France, claims they are in talks with Apple to offer the iPhone in Spain and Poland, “among others”. The claim comes direct from Orange’s CFO Gervais Pellissier.

This week also brought news that the iPhone manufacturer is expanding its horizons and truly going global by partnering up with Vodafone, Rogers Canada, and Telecom Italia.

Orange and Apple did not comment on which other countries would be included in the iPhone offering.

Apple finds a partner in Latin America with America Novil

america_novilOn the heels of the announcement from Vodafone, which will carry the iPhone in 10 new countries, Reuters has reported that Apple has partnered with Latin America’s wireless carrier America Novil.

The Mexican-based carrier has over 150 million customers in Latin, Central, and South America, as well as some Caribbean islands. Both Apple and America Novil remain silent on the possible partnership.
