3G iPhone coming in “months” according to AT&T CEO

At an event at the 2008 CTIA show in Vegas, AT&T’s CEO made a comment that all of his company’s connected smartphones would be 3G soon - “and I mean months.” When asked if this included the Apple iPhone, he repeated himself, which seems a pretty clear indication that the iPhone is included.

So this means that the 1 year anniversary of the original iPhone’s launch, June 29th, would be the earliest we could see a 3G iPhone - and, perhaps, a likely launch date. Few people know for sure when to expect it, but it wouldn’t seem out of character for Apple to launch a new version of its product exactly a year after the original. We can only hope.
