iPhones to be used as remote controls for Blu-ray devices

NetBlender, a media technology company, is expected this week to introduce a new technology linking Blu-ray content to Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch. This new solution, called the BD Touch, will allow Apple users to control Blu-ray players directly from their devices.

The company also said the new technology will support automatic film updates to the iPhone by sending a digital copy of a video from the Blu-ray player or disc, keep a database of movie collections, and provide pertinent movie information on the iPhone.
